I have hemochromotosis for 18 years, and have been donating blood very often to keep ferritin down. Recently i stepped up the process and donated every 8 weeks for 1 months like clock work. my ferritin came down for over 300 to 31 and my recent cbs were all normal except for platlets were 130000.

Dear Dr. My son is 15 years old and his hair is thining as this thining of the hair is not just in front of the head but also in most part of the of head also the diameter of the hair shaft had reduced in size too, we have done some blood work and I have the result, he was low in iron, but not mush more was noted from the result, I would like to arrange a conference call and seek your advice.
